Guess it would depend on the exact sequence of modification cuts - I figured they would not do anything that wasn't absolutely required. If a 4-jaw chuck were set-up to grip the receiver, they would have access to the full length of the barrel. Or would the pressure of the cutter tend to tighten or loosen the threads?
