Close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades. Arms were not produced, shipped or issued in serial number sequence, so number xxx10 might have been built, shipped and issued weeks or months or thousands of miles apart from numbers xxxx9 or xxx11. It is possible that sequential, or even close numbers had similar histories, but lacking documented evidence the odds are heavily against it.

When you get 2,3,4 or even 5 numbers matching, you cannot claim you won the Powerball jackpot! But some dealers would like you to believe you did- and charge accordingly.
