Re: Carbine stock for sale here

If it were on Ebay for $525, from someone I did not know, with the drawbacks noted, I would think twice.

However, I trust Al, not only for his knowledge and integrity, but also for his feel for the market - he does not overprice his stuff.

I assume he has checked the sequence of wood operations from OM22 and based his "OK" comment on that. Also, I'd think that SA may have had some gang drills which did more than one hole at a time, or that they simply made all stocks the same.

In a more practical sense, when selling a loose stock, one HAS to comment on any apparent irregularity, whereas (while NOT condoning "sharp practices", when one sells a fully assembled gun, the flaw (IF it is one) will not be seen - and - to be blunt - the carbine won't really be "right" anyway if you put it together! [GRIN] I think we are getting into the angels and pinhead area.

In short, if you like the stock, I'd buy it.
