OKYYYYYYYYYYYY! If the staff is laid flat that would be battle sight. When you stand the staff upright the triangle has an arrow pointing to the right side of the staff at its lowest point 200 yards. At this point the peep is covered by the base. Now if you raise the staff to where the peep is at 200 yards the triangle is at 335 yards. Now you see that there actually TWO sights there one is the triangle the other the peep. The design is not to have them work together. On the right side of the staff are some long range setting for 1500 to 2000 yards for volley fire. Hope this helps a bit.
