Fort Laramie Blunt target

Posted by Stephen B. McCartney on Monday, 1 February 2016, at 2:44 p.m.

When I worked at Fort Laramie National Historic Site, way back in the summer of 1979, there was an outline target (I can't remember how to spell "sillouette") in the new guardhouse (its predecessor, the old guardhouse still stands). This target is of a soldier on horseback and is canvas. I don't think that it was ever fired at. Still, being large and intended for distance shooting, it was impressive for the those in the know to appreciate. Straight out of Blunt's manual.
