Hi Larry, Capt. Blunt wrote "Rifle and Carbine Firing" in 1885. This manual was adopted by the Army for small arms training and used until, well, I don't know when a revised or new version was adopted. But if you can find a copy or an original copy there is lots of good information therein. But this is where I found all the historic targets I use, as well as the rules and regulations. I can certainly understand your sons not being interested in the Springfields, or probably not much of anything else. They are infected with diseases that the majority of the American population are these days. These are T.E.D.D. (Terminal Electronic Device Disease) and Cellular Cancer. The symptoms are numerous, but probably the most prevalent symptoms are apathy and obliviousness with a blank look. Pretty discouraging. Regards, Ken
