Springfield 1864 with a trapdoor

Posted by Chris on Thursday, 31 December 2015, at 1:28 a.m.

I have a Springfield marked US Model 1864 on the front of the trapdoor. V-P-Eagle-P on the barrel. It is 52" long, 2 rings with the u stamp. It is a center fire trap door. The buttstsock has a door that slides open for ammo storage and US on the top by the screw. It is also fitted with the large flip up sliding yardage peep type rear site. This appears to be a 2nd Allin but is this a different version. Obviously a long distance gun? Any thoughts and possible values would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!
