On the other hand, don't sour on 19th century weapons. Having collected since 1972 (I no longer actively collect), I encourage people to invest in books. Compared to 1972, all aspects of firearms and militaria are now teeming with research information, rather than dated books from the 1940's and 1950's. Al Frasca and Dick Hosmer have books on trapdoors that I wish I had way back when. Spending several hundred dollars on books can save, literally, thousands of dollars. Even 20th century arms and militaria now have greet books available. .
