Re: Dick's Records on 1873 Carbines

Al, I have a question to ponder. If these 5 point stared Carbines were in fact issued to Texas Rangers how would have the 1880 recall affected them? Would the Texas Rangers have been notified of the recall and if so wouldn't they have been compelled to return these first model carbines for upgrades? We know the Indians weren't notified and wouldn't have returned them if they were. What are everyone's thoughts on this? Sincerely, Michael H. Collins
