Re: Dick's Records on 1873 Carbines

Rick, Nothing is impossible but a fair number of these Carbines have origins from Montana, the Western Dakotas and Wyoming. Also, I know of a Colt 1860 Army relic found in the Yellow Stone Valley that has the identical 5 point star marking on its grip as the 18 known Springfield Trapdoor Carbines. It was originally Native American owned. I'm following up on some other research that is leading me toward Native American markings and a possible warrior society. I'm not ready to post here yet but I'm finding some interesting information. Sincerely, Michael H. Collins
