speaking of LBH

Posted by Rick Baker on Sunday, 6 December 2015, at 11:12 a.m.

I spent the day visiting with my daughter in St. Louis yesterday. In the art gallery in Forest Park there was a pictograph on deer skin by White Bird, a Cheyenne who fought at LBH. He was later a scout for the US and was asked to draw the battlefield by a US officer 15 years after the fact. In this picture the soldiers are all very organized in neat lines. In another pictograph by the White Bird they are in the process of being overrun with several dead or dying soldiers depicted. Not sure when that was drawn as I have only seen a photo of it without a date. Anyway, quite interesting and felt priveledged to see it. RB
