You could find the 1919 in service into the 70's though primarily with our allies. Today I do not believe there is not much diffence designwise between the M2 50 cal and brownings original design. Most A6s were reworked A4s although Rock Island Arsenal did make somewhere around 4000 purpose built A6s ( these were the ones you wanted to get). I would not have ever wanted to have to tear down Any machinegun under fire in the dark as you had to do on the DMZ- I would likely have marked my laundry. having to standup and use all tracers in your personal weapon to direct the fire of multiple 1919s was bad enough and would also require strong bladder muscles as tracers point both ways....as you would well know.
