In Lowcountry South Carolina our deer season starts around 15 August, so school does not interfere. However, many of my students were from the Upcountry, where the season starts later. Well, I remember one Pre-Med who contemplated a big test somebody had scheduled for the Upcountry's Opening Day. Declaring it "a matter of priorities," she skipped the test. Yes, she still got into medical school. But don't expect to see her at her clinic on Opening Day. Furthermore, these days, like mother, like son. And Michael, I bet you'll live to see a grandkid who'd give up a left arm for an Experimental Carbine and who'll be insomniac before the middle of October.
