Re: carbine velocity

Thanks Dick for the assistance. I have three .50/55 carbines but only shoot one of them. They are the 1870 “trapdoor”, 1871 Ward Burton and a Sharps conversion. The Sharps is the only one I now shoot. It was found in an attic with no front wood and a barrel full of mud daubers. Mr. Hoyt re-lined the re-lined barrel and I finally got it back into a decent shootable condition. I thought it would be nice to adjust my loads to the proper velocity just to be historically accurate. Right now I am getting 1,033 f.p.s. with 55 gr. of Goex FFg and a 430 gr. BACO JIM515440. Thanks again.
