Re: Carbine serial numbers

OK, data list used for carbine run #s showing 1-75000 came from Google search and was an NPS.gov site which downloaded in pdf format. Other sites have lists, none seem exactly the same, and all divide total/type/year but year end serial #s don't divide by type, if all types start from 1 that # isn't helpful. If I use 75000 as the limit for 5 digit carbine #s and subtract run total from this sites 1877 production that provides a range starting at 72504 but final # for 1876 as 74215. And yes 4 cannot be confirmed by magnification or using these differing factors. In reality all I have is 7X597 which now appears could be any # below 5 and range from 1875-1877. Something tells me I'm trying to hard and now confused others as well. Only working with what I have. Can provide all markings except for stock. Sad as it was in quite good condition prior to fire. Thanks PM
