Everyone should look at photos closely, and ignore the seller's descriptions, even from auction houses.

Within the last year, I found two rare Springfield rifles that had vague descriptions, but fairly decent photos. One was of a type they only made about 500 of, and the other was one of only 100 made, and the final prices were far lower than what I was willing to pay.

The secret is to know as much as you can about a subject. Thanks to Al Frasca, Bill Brophy, Robert M. Reilly, George Moller, Frank Mallory, Scott Duff, and some other fine authors, it is easy to be well informed. Buy the books BEFORE you buy the guns and you will may find deals too!
