Cadillac recalls nearly 5,000 CTS-V models

Posted by Ziara Hexy on Wednesday, 29 April 2015, at 5:52 a.m.

General Motors recently issued a recall of its first-generation Cadillac CTS-V sedans manufactured between September 6, 2003 and June 11, 2007. The recall affects nearly 5,000 vehicles. The recall is due to a problem with the vehicles front brake hose but it appears to be an issue only in colder states where rock salt is used to melt snow on the roads. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, rock salt on the road can corrode the front brake hose causing brake fluid to leak. Because this would affect the car's ability to slow down quickly, it is a major safety issue.
