There's apparently no limit to stupid - it's hard enough to believe that some jerks try to pound the hinge pin out while the action is still in the wood, but to ignore the tang screw has to be a new low.

Is the block still loose when a case, or round, is chambered - or just when rifle is empty? Some longitudinal play IS allowable, because the thrust is all supposed to be taken at the rear - the hole in the block is even elongated so that the hinge pin should never be in shear.
