1877 Carbine 35,728

Posted by Michael H. Collins on Thursday, 9 April 2015, at 11:17 p.m.

I have a question about something I've never seen before. McPheeter's has a Springfield Trapdoor Carbine listed as a 1877 carbine. It has a price attached of $5,250.00..In the Ad he mentions that this particular gun has been reviewed and discussed with Al Frasca. I don't have any issues with the gun or the description or the explanations given for the configuration. However, I have never seen a Carbine with a Serial Number this early in this configuration. Even more interesting to me is the high arch breech block with no eagle marking. Can anyone enlighten me on these features as they would apply to this Carbine? I'm very curious. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Michael H. Collins
