Re: 1884 Cadet Markings

The lock plate appears to be a fourth variation Springfield lock with a three notch tumbler. The receiver is a wide receiver. There is a faint remains of a serial number, but looks to have been filed or sanded at some point? I'm not aware of the un-numbered 1870 receivers. My only Trapdoor reference is the 3rd edition of the Poyer & Riesch "The .45-70 Springfield". I was also thinking of a Bannerman like operation, but so far have not listing of the "Mc K" stamping. Thanks, Jim.
