It is not possible to interchange the latch only, since, despite a very similar appearance, the mounting is quite different. If the (admittedly no good) H&R mechanism is beyond repair, then it IS possible to fit an original breechblock assembly complete.

It may or may not drop right in. If you lack patience, or are uncomfortable working slowly with grinding compound, crocus cloth, etc., it should be a very simple task for a GUNSMITH - not necessarily the guy at your local gun shop whose expertise is primarily in fitting bump-stocks to black rifles.
