That's an oddly-worded "lead-in", if you will pardon my saying so.

As far as I know, that carbine was/is in the Custer Battlefield Museum. Has it been de-accessioned? I also understand that the artifacts from said museum were on temporary loan to a facility in Arizona (?) while a brand new builiding was being constructed at LBH.

The carbine is recorded as coming from the family of one "White Swan", but I'm not aware whether that was be capture, or later voluntary turn-in.

So, YOU are the one who can help UD by futher divulging the nature of the manner in which you crossed paths with this nartional treasure, which is supposed to be securely under lock and key?
