It certainly looks original, but it has been heavily cleaned. Nothing wrong with that, although collectors prefer original finish as first choice, then they choose sides with some liking "original rust" and others demanding cleaning to return the appearance to the a bright polished look as when it was originally made.

Not a bad gun, but like just about everything I see in the Cabelas "Gun Libraries" the pricing seems to be extremely optimistic, or hopeful that P.T. Barnum was right ("There is a sucker born every minute.")

For someone with plenty of money and not much time to chase down bargains, I think they might be happy with this. For penny-pinching collectors they may seek to shop around a lot longer hunting for a bargain, or condition that exactly fits their desires.
