1873 carbine

Posted by Nick peters on Monday, 9 February 2015, at 6:16 p.m.

Hello Dick New to trapdoor collecting. Recently acquire an 1873 trapdoor carbine. Sn 22375. Is this considered A "Custer Range carbine" ??.. It seems that with research, the Custer Range" ends at 22,000 SN. Is this an exact figure or just being rounded off?.. I understand that the Custer Range restarted around SN 32,000 .What happened to the 10,000 carbines or rifles inbetween these two ranges??? Where they in storage?. Sent elsewhere?... Like I mentioned I am a beginner so your help would be greatly appreciated by myself and any other "New Be" to this hobby
