Sounds just fine except for the block, which is an easy and inexpensive fix (if you ever choose to - there are two schools of thought on that) that need not be rushed. That IS the correct range for the last 5000 carbines made in 1889 - my own specimen is 452770. If it was refurbished for the Span-Am war, and many were, the block could have been replaced at that time. Main thing is to see that all metal parts show similar color and wear.
