Re: serial nos

Nearly half of the total .50-70 trapdoor production was serially numbered.

The 1866 and 1870 models were not, but the 1868 and 1869 Cadet were, in the format indicated. The gun at Redding is an 1869 Cadet (which were all made in 1870 and so dated) in apparently correct, but somewhat worn, condition.
