Some disappointments to be sure. I am vitally interested, since our collections overlapped a bit, and I need to take the pulse of what I might expect.

However, one also needs to look closely at the details - for example, the M1888 Positive Cam rifle went for less than expected - but - I suspect it may have been a "made-up" piece, to fill the niche until a better one came along.

Once you have the block, and a "close" number, you have the gun, because any competent machinist can add the single extra clearance cut in the receiver and "age" it a bit. The problem here is getting just the right number! The 100 pieces made for trial are almost consecutive, and that one was more than 100 above the highest previously known.
