Re: breech screw

FABRICATION OF SMALL ARMS, ORDNANCE MEMORANDA No.22 (1878)pp. 167-168 is where one can find the list. For the breech screw, it is a little confusing. The Models 1855, 1861 and 1863 all use the '55. The two '66 models use the '66, while the rest of the series uses the Model 1868 breech screw. I suspect that these are all the same and are merely a record keeping change. With all the penny pinching going on and breaking up of Civil War rifle muskets for parts for the new breech loaders, I can't see any other reason.
