Hear, hear!!

I have never bought from, or consigned an item to, either of the auction houses in question - but I did once assist Julia with a particular arm - the John Gibbon "custom" Officer's Model. One could not have had a more pleasant or professional relationship.

On the other hand, I have known more than one person who has been less than thrilled with purchases from RIA, and, over the years, have not been impressed, personally, with the quality and/or accuracy of their descriptions. While it is all well and good to have "rich" and "poor" auctions - and they both do so (RIA by title style, and Julia by utilizing their associate, Poulin) it is NOT OK to compromise descriptions. Mr. Julia's point about guaranteeing the headline only is very much on target.
