Sorry, but you have lost me, as to the logic of that. Guess I'm thck-headed, but I fail to see how witholding such information, would affect, in any way, whether or not YOU found one of them. The odds of one turning up are long indeed. Moving on:

The value of the item would be enhanced, and, if you were the finder, you alone would know. Aha - I see it: If someone else were the finder, and you knew more about it than they did, that would be to your advantage, in any discussion involving trying to convince them to sell it to you.

I appreciate the serial numbers, and knowing that the guns are genuine. What you do with the extra data is up to you. Personally I hope that you someday change your mind - but - no hard feelings here.
