Re: 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Carbines with the 5 point Star on the Stock

Dick, I'm getting a little critical in my old age. I really have to get these in my hands to get a good feel for them. I'm really happy to hear the history on the gun and that it's not just some contemporary bench job. Collectors Firearms always marks them up big. But they've held a few of these a long time.In addition, I've had Collectors Firearms send me two of those rough so-called Custer 1873 Carbines for my inspection and both were returned for significant problems and for being unoriginal. I'm suspect of their guns but that's just me. Others may love these folks. Thanks again for the input, history and professional opinion. Sincerely, Michael H. Collins
