Small leather project

Posted by Dick Hosmer on Friday, 12 September 2014, at 2:19 p.m.

Anyone have a favorite cobbler/harnessmaker/tack restorer that would take on what I believe to be a pretty simple project, for a reasonable price? Time and geographical location are unimportant - I'm in no rush, and the items are easily mailable.

What is involved are a pair of carrying straps for a 1918 '03 scabbard. Three of the four loops (at the buckles) need replacing (preferably with period leather) along with the associated re-stitching. It will be immediately obvious from what remains what needs to be done. The items will not be used, so appearance trumps strength in case of any conflict.

Many thanks as always. Of course, this need not go 'out of house'. If a forum reader has the talent, that would be fine, too.
