I had always thought that the Krags were issued primarily to regular army and that the militia/NG/volunteer units were equiped with mostly trapdoors. Obviously, some Krags made it to these units. It sounds like the 6th Ohio got a lot of them. I understand that My gr grandfathers unit, the 20th KS carried the M1884, the M1888rrb and some Krags (mostly I believe to officers and a single company) but that they primarily were equiped with the 1884. Am I incorrect in my assumptions? RB
