Dusted off the carbine...

Posted by Bill2311 on Monday, 25 August 2014, at 2:30 p.m.

After sitting idle in the safe for two year with a new front sight, I finally took the carbine to the range. It now shoots high at 50 yards but low at 100 yards. Just no pleasing this gun. It didn't take long to run through the 50 rounds of ammo I brought along. Next time bring more ammo... I am now waiting on the return of my '79 carbine that is having the barrel relined. I went with a three groove, but .458 bore, so I can shoot jacketed bullets if so inclined. I was really thinking of selling this '84 carbine and the '79 rifle but now I am not so sure. A guy at the range was telling me that he still has his that he bought as a kid for $15. Sounds like quite a deal but I can only image how many hours he worked to raise that money.
