Are you very sure of the chambering? How many barrel bands? SA did convert 1100 M1865 Spencer carbines (all made by Burnside) to rifles in 1871, but they are in .56-50. They are also fairly scarce and desirable.
You may have something really exotic, or not. I'd need a LOT more info, plus pictures, probably. You might want to seek out a copy of Roy Marcot's Spencer book, published about 15 years ago. With more info, I might be able to help you, if no one else here has a definitive answer. John Spangler???
