interesting here actually.. so what have you done on the actually "period" fired slugs of the day? I've recovered so many of them.. literally perhaps a 55 gal barrel worth, that back in the day before I really followed this site.. I mistakenly assumed a 6 land 6 groove bullet was civilian in nature. One day I need to go back and really look at some of them.. most were re-melted and used as ingots for what I shoot today. Thanks for the topic... I'll digs some of the not so common ones I've dug from the firing lines out. The ones fired for 600 plus yards out are in the best shape and followed by what time of year they were shooting depending on how hard the ground was ect.
