Thanks for the note - in all honesty, for most people the money was probably too much, but the rifle itself is unquestionably VERY rare - they just do NOT turn up, in any condition. Fortunately, that one appears to be in pretty nice shape - should know in about a week.

I passed on one, in MUCH lesser condition, about 30 years ago for about the same price. It (#133 - thanks to Bill Hatch's recent help) was then owned by the late Graham Burnside, a well-known writer and editor for firearms magazines, back in the day. I do not know where it (or his favorite #86) is today.

So far, from all my notes and sources, including Al's book and newsletter, I have compiled a master list of just 15 such arms, about half of which are in museums, mostly at SA. I doubt if another four will surface.
