sure does. Gun smiths adapted about everything they wanted. Get yourself a Walter Cooper redone gun from Bozeman MT.. and I think it's worth a tad more than if it were left alone.

I've dug at military site many Springfield parts, I wonder how they kept them in "original" arsenal configuration by the time they saw their way back when turned in... I know for a fact the sights were re-configured at the western posts.. the rifle ranges have many of them still rusting away in the dirt. Even the upgraded Buff. sights.

Still cool to look for.. and find weather(sp) it's a rusty relic.. or a wall hanger.. or nice shooter.
