The bullets are lead cast. They are on the lighter end, not the 800 grain loaded with BP from Ken Smith. Somewhere in the 400 grain range. He says that he fills the entire cartridge case with powder up to the base of the bullet so that there was no need for a filler. I'll put a couple of cartridges in my lunch box and bring to HD for the next time you happen by. No rush, I'm not planning on shooting anytime soon. Just got back from a week and a half in Alaska. Would have loved to have dropped a caribou with one of the rifles. Was definately close enough. RB
