1873 carbine #14124

Posted by kevin fields on Thursday, 24 April 2014, at 3:22 p.m., in response to 1873 Springfield Carbine Serial Number, posted by Len Schneeman on Sunday, 10 June 2012, at 6:18 p.m.

I bought this carbine a year ago for 250.00 .The stock is in rough condition no markings on stock remain. The breach block still retains the color casehardened. The rest of this carbine is plum brown. The bore is bright with just a slight grey at the muzzle, all parts are tight the rear sight is marked to 1200 yards. Found inside the stock under the butt plate was a broken shell head extractor marked Oct. 1873 and the combination tool marked March 1873. Can you tell me anything on this carbine .
