Some of the best reading on the LBH is the Archaeological investigation books by Scott et al. In particular Archaeology, History, and Custer's Last Battle by Richard Fox. He traces individual movement of participants by recovered cartridge cases. If there is any criticism, they don't take into account the souvenir hunting and scavenging that has taken place from day one.
