Bob

I use 55 grains Pyrodex with a 300-330 grain cast lubed bullet. COW on top.

My favorite load for the "pets" I shoot is 15.5 grains Trail Boss from Hodgdon's Powder (Right here in Kansas City). I use COW filler with this load & it works for me. 300-300 grain bullet. We shoot at a 200 yard range but I only shoot at paper at 100 yards. Beyond that nothing is in focus.****That's why I developed the Scope & Mount setup for the Trapdoor that I sell on Gunbroker.com. We mount a Pistol scope on the rifle & the eyesight problem goes away.

Everbody has a favorite load that works well in a bunch of Trapdoors in their collection. No two TD's will shoot the same with the same load. This is common to the breed.

For extreme accuracy I shoot Smokeless powder in my Custom rifles with Vernier sights (my eyes are going away). The run of the mill rifles get the Trail Boss or Pyrodex loads.

Ernie
