TD Muzzle Crown

Posted by John Garratt on Wednesday, 22 January 2014, at 12:02 p.m.

I have a Model 1884 (Buffington rear sight, 1893 stock cartouche and "P". This sweetheart looks like she took a "nose dive" onto a hard surface. One side of the muzzle is compressed to the extent that it mics-out with a low reading of .423. I want to shoot this thing. If I get her re-crowned...how badly will I reduce the rifle's overall value? I was offered considerably more than I paid for her ($800) at a Gun Show this past weekend. A little on-line wisdom would be much appreciated.

God speed,

John
