Turn the barrel band around.

Clean what you can see.

If you cannot stand the urge to disassemble the rifle, simply remove the barrel band & Tang screw to remove the action from the "Carbine". Be sure to place the Hammer on full cock to clear the receiver & tang. When removing the action & barrel, tilt the barrel up while placing your thumb on the tang. As the action pivots carefully pull it forward & out of the stock. The cutout for the Tang is very susceptible to chipping if you pull the tang straight up.

There is no reason to remove the Side plate & Trigger guard.

Send pics to Dick including the very front of the stock (closeup) & ALL numbers, Cartouches, etc.
