Yes, they are out there. I've reported sellers of the stamps to eBay, for example - but to no avail, since sellers are the source of their income.

The cartouche occurs at a point of wear, so if you have a tired gun with a new-looking stamp, something is obviously very wrong. This only underscores the silliness, as a gun which is nice enough to show a strong cartouche wouldn't need the fake one!!!!

I won't even delve into the applier's mental masturbation process. What feeling does one get from such an act. Do they wake up the next morning and think it is "real"?
