I have the ordinance Reports for the 4th Q 70 to 4th Q of '71 and maybe I am looking at these wrong but the first time we see those guns is at the end of 3rdQ - 71. There are 4 columns labeled:
Springfield carbines B.L. Cal. 50 Model 1870
Remington carbines B.L. Cal. 50 Model 1870
Sharp's Carbines B.L. Cal. 50 Model 1870
Ward Burton Carbine Model 1870
Encompassing all and above them is the notation - "Experimental"
The only ones that show up in hands of a Company are the first three to Co K.. This company also shows to have Spencer's.
I can send to anyone who likes- email@example.com
