The C.G.C. inspector stamp would indicate government purchase, as a civilian arm should not be marked as such. The first purchase by the govt was about July of 1863, with purchasing continuing to the end of the war. About 1,730 Henry's were bought by the military, with a large number of them (about 800) going to the 1st D.C. Cavalry.

Both SRS and Wiley Sword's book THE HISTORIC HENRY RIFLE list some Henry serial numbers, but yours is not among them.
