I recently came across a trapdoor with the model number 372557 there is a number 46 stamped in the bottom of the stock where the trigger assembly ends at the stock. The barrel bands are marked with a "U". Marked with US Model 1873 on top of the trap door. Where the barrel meets the receiver there are stamped letters VP some type of marking I cannot make out and P. The interesting thing about this trapdoor is that it was fashioned into a coat rack with hooks attached to the bayonet and a ornate base which is attached to the stock via 2 screws. It is interesting to note that the ornate base fits the curvature of the stock precisely as if it were fashioned for this gun specifically. Any information on this would be helpful.
