You can add an extension onto the reamers. I think Brownell's has them. This will allow you to do the work with the receiver attached. However.................

I do not recommend using a reamer to clean up the chamber. That's not a good idea. You may wind up removing too much material & this will cause the case to swell or worst case rupture. Chamber reamers are VERY sharp & cut quickly. Head-spare can also be compromised if the reamer removes material from the case rim area.

If all else fails & the rifle is not of great value to you (your Granddad's, etc), a barrel replacement is the way to go.
