Rick, Over the years our club has had a few chamber problems with rifles and a couple of members have removed the barrels that are otherwise good and cleaned the chamber with Xzylene solvent {cannot buy it anylonger in Ca.}then taking a small iron after warming the barrel with a heat gun used to strip paint and fill the spot with solder. Then run a chambering reamer in to clean it up. put barrel back and shoot. Some of these are still going after many years of use. Find a small piece of a mirror and placing it in the breech at a 45 degree angle you can look into the chamber end of the barrel and see what you have. Hope this helps. Mr Hosmer is correct a reline will cost 250 - 350 .I have seen beautiful reline jobs and also some real horror jobs as well.
